Autumn Ground Works Complete
The club has completed a comprehensive set of autumn ground works to round off our end of season activities.
Thanks to groundsman Gary Holland for coordinating the scarifying of the wicket and arranging secure storage of the Club’s ground equipment, which will not be remaining at the Club over the winter. In addition, the Club has also invested in scarifying the entire outfield for the first time in many years. An enormous amount of moss and thatch has now been removed which will improve the outfield surface and, critically, lower surface water retention. The scarifying of the wicket and some further rolling has ensured that the most important part of the pitch is put to bed for the winter in the best possible condition.
These activities are all essential to our programme of continued investment and improvement in the Club. These are only possible due to continued support from our loyal base of members and increasing number of guests who have supported the Club throughout the year. It’s great the we finally have the funds available for this kind of important work. We hope to repeat the scarifying pre-season so that we can begin 2017 with our ground in the best possible shape.
